Johanna Nyqvist

Johanna Nyqvist is a Swedish multidisciplinary artist whose work explores mythology, symbolism, and humanity’s evolving relationship with technology and space. Rooted in feminine storytelling, her practice bridges ancient narratives with emerging technologies, where art becomes both artifact and evolving process.

Working across traditional art, digital environments, AI, and experimental media, Nyqvist creates works that exist within moments of technological transformation — where creation is no longer static, but continuously unfolding.

As co-founder of the MoonMars Museum, one of the first museums established on the Moon, she has preserved her own work alongside one of the first lunar art exhibitions at Mare Crisium. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at The National Art Center, NYC.NFT, and Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum. Nyqvist is also the author of Matilda and the Moon, among the first literary works preserved on the Moon through the MoonMars Museum archive.
